In this myPIPE tutorial, “How to Use Part Nesting in myPIPE,” we walk through the Nesting feature, which arranges multiple identical cutouts evenly along a single tube automatically, instead of positioning each one by hand.
The tutorial starts with configuring a single cutout, then shows how the Nesting panel is used to repeat that cutout along the tube, and finishes by loading the completed part into the myCNC machine control interface.
What Happens in This Tutorial
- 1Configure a single cutout’s parameters in the CAD3D Cutout panel — connection angle, diameter, rotation, corner radius, and position on the tube.
- 2Open the saved tube part file, ready for nesting.
- 3Switch to the Nesting panel and set the nesting length, part count, and the distance between each repeated cutout.
- 4Generate the nested layout, which arranges the cutout pattern evenly along the full length of the tube.
- 5Inspect the finished part in the 3D viewer, rotating the tube and reviewing a cross-section of the cutout profile.
- 6Load the completed, nested part into the myCNC machine control interface, ready to run on the CNC machine.

This workflow is well suited to tube fabrication jobs that call for repeated features along a length of stock — for example, components with a series of mounting holes, slots, or other openings spaced at regular intervals.
